Integrating Traditional and Cutting-Edge Technology

Integrating technology in my Kindergarten Class

As an educator, I know kindergarteners thrive on hands-on experiences. That's why I blend tactile tools like whiteboards, picture books, and manipulatives with digital resources that spark curiosity and support. creativity, numeracy, and early literacy.

Traditional Tools that I would use in the classroom is

-Storytime with big books to build vocabulary and listening skills

-Classroom Calendar for daily routines

-Weather Charts for daily routines

-Magnetic letters and number tiles for phonics and math play

Cutting Edge Tools I would use is:

-Interactive Whiteboard -for drawing, sorting and digital storytelling.

-Augmented Reality (AR) apps that bring animals, letters and shapes to life.

-Digital portfolios where students record their voices and showcase their work.

How I evaluate Technology use?

To ensure technology supports—not distracts from—learning, I use:

  • The SAMR model to reflect on how tech transforms instruction

  • Student engagement checklists during tech activities

  • Digital work samples and voice recordings to track growth

  • Parent feedback on how tech tools support learning at home

Gadgets in the classroom

-Bee-Bot Robot A friendly, programmable robot that teaches sequencing, problem-

solving, and spatial awareness through hands-on play.

-Osmo Little Genius Starter Kit Combines physical play with iPad apps to teach

letters, numbers, and creativity in a tactile, engaging way.
